The Simple Joys of String (2022)

This piece is an exploration of string—its texture, tension, and the unique characteristics each type holds. By enlarging traditional tapestry weaving onto a larger board, I experimented with how different strings interact, intertwine, and create movement. Some were rigid, holding firm in structure, while others were soft, flowing effortlessly between the woven paths.

At its core, this work reflects the simple joys in life. In a world that often feels overly complex, there is beauty in simplicity—just as a single thread, when woven with intention, can create something meaningful. This tapestry is a reminder that not everything needs to be complicated; sometimes, the most straightforward elements bring the most joy.
