PROJECT III.
Transient Vessel: A Study in Ephemeral Biomaterial Design (2023)
Transient Vessel is an exploration of biomaterial ingenuity, pushing the boundaries of ephemeral fashion by creating a fully functional bag using only biodegradable and naturally sourced materials. This project reimagines accessory design through a regenerative lens, utilizing fruit dyes and the empty shells of fruits and animals to form a material that is both structurally viable and intentionally impermanent.
The bag embodies the delicate balance between functionality and transience, proving that fashion can exist harmoniously within natural cycles. By forgoing synthetic components, Transient Vessel challenges conventional material expectations, demonstrating that biomaterials can serve as a viable alternative for accessory design while embracing the beauty of organic decomposition.
This project contributes to the ongoing dialogue on sustainable innovation, advocating for a future where materiality is designed with both use and eventual return to nature in mind.
