Microbial Weave: An Avant-Garde Exploration in Textile Alchemy (2023)

This sweater is a bold experiment in textile fusion, where avant-garde design meets biological storytelling. Created through machine knitting, it intertwines modern craftsmanship with organic processes, drawing inspiration from the intricate world of bacteria and fungi. The piece pushes the boundaries of traditional knitwear by integrating diverse textiles, each carefully selected to enhance its experimental nature.

What sets this piece apart is the bacteria and fungi detailing—achieved not through artificial embellishments, but through natural methods and bio-experimentation. This approach transforms the sweater into a living narrative, where science and fashion collide in a unique, ephemeral expression of material alchemy. Through this work, I explore how the organic and synthetic can coexist, crafting a garment that evolves, reacts, and challenges our perception of textiles in the modern age.
