Bags Of Fish (2017)

This is a common sight in Vietnam—fish tied to motorcycles, being transported somewhere. Seeing them, I once wondered: Are they being taken to live somewhere new, or are they being carried towards their fate? I illustrated this contradiction by juxtaposing the hopeful movement of the motorcycle with the uncertain destiny of the fish in plastic bags. To capture the dynamism of the moving motorcycle, I depicted the road with colorful streaks.
