Monsters of the City (2017)
Growing up in Ho Chi Minh City, I was surrounded by low-rise buildings and charming houses. However, as towering skyscrapers rapidly emerged, the city began to feel desolate. At night, the unlit buildings seemed eerie and lifeless. Remembering my childhood thoughts, I imagined that monsters might dwell inside these dark structures. The black buildings symbolize this fear, while the sky—resembling both waves and the cosmos—represents the passage of time and the transformation of the city.
